Several production technologies within the "Nasti Purun" Purun Weaving Group in Serdang Bedagai are currently conducted manually, particularly the process of making Purun rope bags. The spinning of Purun rope still involves the use of hands and feet, causing discomfort, fatigue, and even injury to the workers' hands and feet. The "Nasti Purun" Purun Weaving Group in Serdang Bedagai is in dire need of a Purun rope spinning machine. The specific objective of this activity is the acquisition of a Purun rope spinning machine and providing appropriate marketing methods along with basic accounting. The implementation method is carried out comprehensively, beginning with the application of Purun rope spinning technology and proper business management development, expanding the market area using online marketing (digital marketing) as an effort towards achieving one of the SDGs objectives, Decent Work and Economic Growth. This aims to enhance inclusive and sustainable economic growth, as well as decent work for all. These activities can have a positive impact not only on the target community but also on the university.
Buchari Juliza Hidayati Ami Dilham Copyright (c) 2024 ABDIMAS TALENTA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-02-18 2024-02-18 9 1 1 5 10.32734/abdimastalenta.v9i1.14582 Mangrove Nursery as Environmental Recovery Efforts in Aquaculture Pond Area, Utan Sub-District, Sumbawa https://talenta.usu.ac.id/abdimas/article/view/13457
Geographically, the Utan sub-district is located in the coastal region of Sumbawa Regency, with abundant fisheries and marine potential. One of the potentials in the Utan sub-district is shrimp farming. Meanwhile, the management of natural resources in coastal forest areas so far tends to be less improved; this is due to various reasons, such as the lack of public awareness of the importance of coastal greenery and maintenance of existing coastal forests. Through the mangrove nursery program as an effort to restore the environment in the pond cultivation area, in Utan District, Sumbawa, it is hoped that it can raise awareness and the community's active role in the importance of a healthy environment. The results show that his community service succeeded in forming mangrove farmer groups, fostering mangrove farmer groups by conducting periodic education, and building mangrove nurseries. This mangrove nursery is managed directly by a group of mangrove farmers and has succeeded in producing 2,500-4,000 mangrove seedlings and successfully marketing them. In conclusion, this community service activity was successfully carried out and proved to improve farmers' welfare around the ponds. In addition, with this mangrove nursery, the community can contribute to the planting process so that a lot of carbon is absorbed in the atmosphere so that the air quality in the Sumbawa environment is of high quality. This means that the economy, society, and environment will be sustainable.
Nurul Amri Komarudin Yuni Yolanda Adi Mawardin Jenri Parlinggoman Hutasoit Copyright (c) 2024 ABDIMAS TALENTA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-02-18 2024-02-18 9 1 6 13 10.32734/abdimastalenta.v9i1.13457 Empowering the Student through Social Media and Financial Management Plan Templates for Universities in Southeast Asia https://talenta.usu.ac.id/abdimas/article/view/13909
Planning from various aspects is crucial in running a business. Planning is done so that an entrepreneur can achieve optimal results and profit. One type of planning that can be utilized in line with the increasingly widespread development of digital marketing is from the side of Social Media and the Financial Management Plan. But unfortunately, not many entrepreneurs, either those who are just starting a business or are currently running a business, apply this type of planning. In fact, by using good planning, an entrepreneur can maximize brand promotion and financial management that they manage. The community service team provides templates and training on the utilization/use of the Social Media Plan and Financial Management Plan Templates to students interested in entrepreneurship (studentpreneurs). The training was conducted through Zoom Meetings at three universities in Southeast Asia (Universitas Negeri Jakarta – Indonesia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah – Malaysia, and Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University – Thailand). As many as 85.7% of participants have never used a template similar to a Social Media Plan; 2) There are 77.1% of participants who have never used a template such as a Financial Management Plan; 3) 100% of participants felt that the two templates were handy, and they were interested in using the templates.
Ika Febrilia Ratna Anggraini Shandy Aditya Tuty Sariwulan Agung Wahyu Handaru I Gusti Ketut Agung Ulupui Puji Wahono Ati Sumiati Rida Prihatni Suherdi Indra Pahala Destria Kurnianti Copyright (c) 2024 ABDIMAS TALENTA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-02-18 2024-02-18 9 1 14 23 10.32734/abdimastalenta.v9i1.13909 Student-Based Entrepreneurship Incubation Program for Student Startup Digital Business Development in Efforts to Optimize Sustainable Student Business https://talenta.usu.ac.id/abdimas/article/view/15687
The student digital startup business development incubation program is one of the initiatives implemented to support the development of innovative and sustainable student businesses. This program aims to help students realize their competitive and sustainable business potential. Analysis of the entrepreneurial situation at the University of North Sumatra is currently in the process of development, marked by a large number of new young entrepreneurs from various entrepreneurial programs both internal to the university and outside the university, such as the Young Entrepreneurs program (PMW), Student Creativity Program (PKM), it known that in 2022 there will be 12 PKM funding for the entrepreneurship scheme, apart from that there were also three program winning entrepreneurs (P2MW). The problem is that there are limitations in opening up networking opportunities and market access for students just starting a business. There is a need for education from campuses and assistance regarding good business financial management, and there is still a need to improve sustainable entrepreneurship programs for students. There is a lack of qualified mentors or other resources and support. So, every startup from campus that has just started a business immediately loses enthusiasm and motivation because there is no continuous assistance. The method used to resolve this problem is assistance to improve student startup skills in providing competent human resources, financial assistance, and financial management literacy for student startups, providing facilities in the form of booths and business facilities, training and guidance to improve business management skills, and marketing. This program's online and offline results are characterized by opening up valuable opportunities for students to develop digital business ideas and promote sustainable business principles, allowing student businesses to contribute to sustainable growth.
THF. SDGs contain 17 goals and 169 targets which are expected to be achieved by 2030. Universities are expected to help the government in strengthening SDGs programs. One of the 9th SDGs programs is "Building resilient infrastructure, increasing inclusive and sustainable industry, and encouraging innovation. In line with the 9th SDGs program, the people of North Sumatra Province who are highly dependent on agricultural livelihoods need innovation and empowerment programs to increase their efficiency and productivity. The Karo Regency area in North Sumatra Province has been developed into production centers for agricultural products such as vegetables and fruit. Berastagi is a fruit and vegetable producing center as well as a tourist area. As a producer and tourism center, the government has designated the Berastagi fruit market as an orderly market. However, it was found that the weighing measuring instruments owned by traders at the Berastagi fruit market did not have a valid stamp and had expired stamps, which resulted in a decrease in regional levy income for Karo Regency. Apart from that, the transfer of the D3 Metrology and Instrumentation study program in 2022 from FMIPA to USU's Faculty of Vocational Studies is not yet well known to the public, resulting in a decline in student interest in entering the D3 Metrology and Instrumentation study program, which has been proven to be far below the quota accepted in the 2023 new student admission achievement pathway. For this reason, through the community service program in 2023, it is necessary to introduce the D3 Metrology and Instrumentation study program through socialization activities on Law Number 2 of 1981 concerning Re-Terra and Re-Terra and Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, education on Re-Terra of Measuring Instruments. Weigh measuring instruments and carrying out re-testing of weighing measuring instruments for students and teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Kabanjahe and re-calibrating measuring measuring instruments owned by traders at the Berastagi fruit market and it is hoped that students and teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Kabanjahe will become informants about the importance of measuring instruments. repeat weighing measurements and have an interest in becoming a translatorthrough studying at the D3 Metrology and Instrumentation study program, USU Vocational Faculty.
Junedi Ginting Gustanto Copyright (c) 2024 ABDIMAS TALENTA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-02-19 2024-02-19 9 1 38 43 10.32734/abdimastalenta.v9i1.14776 Making Biocarno Fertilizer from Marine Organic Waste to Increase the Income of the Abadi Fisherman Farmer Group in Kuala Indah Village https://talenta.usu.ac.id/abdimas/article/view/14034
Management of marine organic waste can also be used as a solution to reduce marine waste and prevent global warming considering that the sea has many roles in supporting the life of living creatures and maintaining the ecosystem. The organic fertilizer that will be produced will be called "Biocarno Fertilizer" with good quality. The aim of this activity is to form or develop the Abadi Fishermen Farmer Group which is economically and socially independent, helps create peace and comfort in social life, and increases the skills and income of Farmer Group members in producing Biocarno Fertilizer independently. The result of this activity is the completion of community service in the form of counseling and outreach carried out by the service team to partner farmer groups, namely making Biocarno fertilizer by mixing several raw materials such as marine organic waste, cow dung, rice straw, Azolla, EM4 and molasses as a bioactivator. composting process. The next planned stage that must be carried out is to monitor and evaluate the progress of compost maturation over the next month, then samples of the mature compost will be taken to be taken to the laboratory for nutrient analysis so that farmers can modify the compost raw materials to produce quality compost according to the standards determined by SNI 19-7030-2004.
Benny Hidayat Nur Ulina Sibayang Jamilah Copyright (c) 2024 ABDIMAS TALENTA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-02-19 2024-02-19 9 1 44 48 10.32734/abdimastalenta.v9i1.14034 Children Education and Empowerment in an Effort to Improve Healthy Habits in Titi Payung https://talenta.usu.ac.id/abdimas/article/view/11599
Titi Payung Village is one of the villages in Air Putih District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province. Titi Payung has an area of 165 hectares. There are a total of 2,551 people there, divided into 6 hamlets. Some of the health problems that often occur in school-age children are diseases related to children's personal hygiene and the environment like not brushing their teeth properly and correctly, the habit of washing hands with soap, and so on. Diseases that often arise due to lack of personal hygiene are diarrhea, helmintiasis (stomach worms), toothache, etc. (Saputra, 2013). For this reason, there are several activities that should be encouraged to be able increase knowledge and health quality for students, starting from Kindergarten/Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK) students to Elementary School/Sekolah Dasar (SD) students in Titi Payung Village as a form of prevention of diseases from an early age. The Implementation methods used are lectures and demonstrations. The set of activities carried out are the socialization of the importance of handwashing with soap (Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun- CTPS) and socialization of maintaining dental and oral health. The results of the implementation of the socializations were the improvents of students' knowledge regarding the correct way to wash hands with soap and the correct way to brush the teeth. As conclusions, the Thematic Students' Study Service/ Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKNT) of Universitas Sumatra Utara 2022 helped to increase the knowledge of students in Titi Payung Village and inspire to put more efforts to prevent disease from an early age.
Dewi Sartika Br Ginting Diana Sari Wahyuni Putri Fadhillah Retno Sekar Dwigita Cahayani Dinda Anggana Putri Eka Syahrani Panjaitan Helena Gultom Copyright (c) 1970 ABDIMAS TALENTA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-02-19 2024-02-19 9 1 49 52 10.32734/abdimastalenta.v9i1.11599 Empowering Village Women Through Home Industry Batik Prima Jaya to Create Local Economic https://talenta.usu.ac.id/abdimas/article/view/15496
Efforts to empower women are part of human development as a resource that has considerable potential and can be developed in the context of national development. There is a phenomenon regarding women in low economic conditions, where the patriarchal cultural system has indirectly placed restrictions on women so that inequality (gender) arises, which has also given rise to the closeness of women's identity to poverty. Therefore, to equalize this position, an activity to empower village women through the Primajaya batik home industry is needed in order to increase local economic independence. The aim of this community service is to shape individuals and communities to become independent. This independence includes economic independence, independence in thinking, acting and relying on what they do. Community empowerment aims to make people independent, have the potential to be able to solve the problems they face, and be able to fulfill their needs without depending on outside parties for their lives.
Mardiah Mawar Kembaren Irsad M. Providing education in the form of simulations and applying patents of a method of increasing independence for detecting health status and following up on appropriate treatment and patents of WEB site-based self-care methods is the application of information and communication technology in nursing services which is one solution to overcome this because it can optimize individual independence so that distance, time, place, and cost are not an obstacle to getting nursing services and achieving SDGs 3; ensuring a healthy life and improving the welfare of the population. Community service uses interview methods, health promotion about upper respiratory tract infections, hypertension, infections, rheumatism, dental caries, skin infections, refractive errors, pulmonary tuberculosis, pulp and pariapical tissue diseases and cataracts. Followed by simulations, assistance to all participants in using the WEB https://ariganursingselfcare.com/, observation and monitoring of the application of WEB to increase independence in detecting health status and following up on treatment. Community service was carried out from August to October 2023 in the community in the Medan Sunggal Health Center working area with a total of 173 people. The results showed 113 (65%) respondents were independent in detecting health status and following up on treatment, but there were still 60 (35%) respondents who needed continuous assistance in applying the WEB.
Reni Asmara Ariga Edy Ikhsan Nurbaiti Selviani Ariga Fajar Amanah Ariga Sri Budi Astuti Hijrah Purnama Sari Ariga Dian Maya Sari Copyright (c) 2024 ABDIMAS TALENTA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-04-28 2024-04-28 9 1 61 65 10.32734/abdimastalenta.v9i1.16168 Development of Biogas Plant and Mushrooms Grumpy in a Biomass Waste Utilization Facility at Tadukan Raga Village, STM Hilir District, Deli Serdang Regency https://talenta.usu.ac.id/abdimas/article/view/14489
Community service is a form of movement in making a real contribution to society which aims to provide solutions to real problems that occur in society. Most of the Indonesian population still relies on the agriculture, plantation and livestock sectors to drive the economy. By-products in the form of waste are generally used as fertilizer which can actually be used as an alternative energy source. Biogas is a renewable energy produced through the process of anaerobic digestion of organic materials which is currently widely used by the community as an alternative energy to replace LPG for cooking and generator fuel to produce electricity. One of the utilization of non-hazardous biomass waste into energy in the form of biogas has been implemented in Tadukan Raga village in Sinembah Tanjung Muda (STM) Hilir District, Deli Serdang Regency which has been operated since 2018 and is equipped with a barn for mushroom cultivation. However, problems arise where the facility is abandoned where there is a lack of maintenance of biogas generation facilities and mushroom barns, lack of human resources and low understanding of the community, especially BUMDes in the management, development and business maintenance of this facility. Therefore, it is necessary to provide counseling and training to the community in the operation of biogas facilities, revitalize mushroom barns in biomass non-b3 waste utilization facilities and modify LPG stoves into biogas stoves and install stoves in residents' homes around Tungkusan hamlet. Tadukan Raga Village itself is a fostered village that has been used as a place for counseling and service from the University of North Sumatra to the community because there are still several things that need to be improved, so counseling is again carried out in this village.
Rivaldi Sidabutar Bambang Trisakti Farida Hanum Maya Sarah Mersi Suriani Sinaga Yenny Natasya Renata Ambarita Gloria Clarita Sinamo Copyright (c) 2024 ABDIMAS TALENTA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-04-28 2024-04-28 9 1 66 69 10.32734/abdimastalenta.v9i1.14489
