This study aims to apply K-Means to the
characteristics based on selected Human Development Index (HDI) indicators,
namely the average length of schooling, the expectation of length of schooling and
life expectancy in Province of East Nusa Tenggara. The optimal cluster obtained
is 6 clusters. The cluster with the highest average value of all variables is in cluster
1 which is Kupang City area. Meanwhile, condition cluster 6 provides the smallest
life expectancy value compared to other clusters. The smallest average variable of
school length is in cluster 2. The regions that provide the smallest number
expectation of length of schooling is in cluster 5.
Justin Eduardo Simarmata, Debora Chrisinta, Miko Purnomo Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Research in Mathematics Trends and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/17066 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Analysis of Rental Value of Shop Houses in Kecamatan Medan Petisah https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/17734
This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the rental value of shophouses in Medan Petisah District, Medan City. The difference in shophouse rental prices is caused by increasingly expensive land prices, which are influenced by busy locations and the presence of new buildings. The Petisah area has experienced rapid development in recent years, causing a significant increase in land prices. This land issue is very important considering the increasing need for regional development. This research uses a market approach to determine the rental value of shophouses by analyzing the factors of building area, rights (certificates), building age, location, road width and parking area simultaneously and partially on the rental value of shophouses. This type of research is quantitative/associative/correlational with inferential statistical data analysis. The population of this study was all shophouses in Medan Petisah District, totaling 456 shophouses, with a sample of 82 shophouses. Data is processed using multiple regression analysis. The research results show that simultaneously, all independent variables have a significant effect on the rental value of shophouses. Partially, the variables of building area, rights (certificate), building age and parking area have a significant effect, while the variables of location and road width have no significant effect. Based on the regression coefficient value, the variables building area, rights (certificate), building age, and parking area have a positive and significant influence on shophouse rental values in Medan Petisah District, Medan City
Risuhendi R, Hilma Tamiami Fachrudin, Rina Bukit Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Research in Mathematics Trends and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/17734 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Application of the Fuzzy Mamdani Method to Predict the Number of Customers Based on the Weather and Holidays in a Simple Restaurant on Abdul Hakim Street https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/16642
This research aims to optimize marketing strategies in the food industry by
applying the Fuzzy Mamdani method. This approach considers factors such as the
number of customers, weather conditions, and holidays to forecast the number of
customers who will come to a simple restaurant. By using the Fuzzy Mamdani
model, this research seeks to generate more effective marketing strategies by
taking into account variability in consumer behavior. The results of this research
are expected to help food business owners to optimize their raw material inventory
more precisely, so as to improve operational efficiency and increase customer
satisfaction.
Parapat Gultom, Wendy Thianujaya Thianujaya, Annisa Hidayati Sirait, Abel Kristian Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Research in Mathematics Trends and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/16642 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Enhancing Higher Education Sustainability Through Quality Management Models https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/18344
Higher education, as part of the service sector, faces significant challenges in managing its systems effectively. To remain competitive and foster growth, private universities require sustainable models that enhance their quality and operational efficiency. This research explores sustainability models for private universities by conducting field surveys and distributing online questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The descriptive analysis highlights key demographic and behavioral characteristics of the respondents, while SEM reveals relationships and factors influencing customer satisfaction and loyalty. Results show that planning, governance, and administration significantly impact education quality, which directly influences the sustainability of private universities. The study also finds that the roles of students, alumni, reputation, and cooperation are crucial in maintaining long-term institutional sustainability. These findings offer practical insights for improving education quality and formulating strategies for private universities to achieve sustainable development.
Andrew Satria Lubis, Zulfan, Samerdanta Sinulingga, Ismayadi, Ayu Dhisa Faradiba Siregar Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Research in Mathematics Trends and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/18344 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Modeling Arterial Blood Flow under Stenosis: A Comparative Study of Newtonian and Carreau-Yasuda Non-Newtonian Approaches https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/18754
This study investigates the simulation of blood flow within arteries experiencing stenosis using both Newtonian and non-Newtonian models. The Newtonian model employs standard fluid dynamics assumptions, while the non-Newtonian Carreau-Yasuda model accounts for the unique viscoelastic properties of blood, providing a more accurate representation of its flow behavior under various shear rates. By utilizing COMSOL Multiphysics, the simulations are conducted with parameters including blood velocity, viscosity, and pressure in normal and narrowed artery conditions. Results reveal that while the Newtonian model predicts general flow patterns, it lacks the precision needed to reflect the complexities of blood behavior in stenosed regions. Conversely, the Carreau-Yasuda model demonstrates enhanced accuracy by capturing viscosity variations and pressure differentials, particularly in the narrowed artery sections, showing the significance of non-Newtonian characteristics in modeling blood flow. These findings underscore the potential of non-Newtonian models in improving diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for vascular conditions.
Erwin, Jonathan Liviera Marpaung Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Research in Mathematics Trends and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://talenta.usu.ac.id/jormtt/article/view/18754 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700
