Jurnal Koridor https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor
KORIDOR is a bilingual journal published twice a year by the Department of Architecture Faculty of Engineering Universitas Sumatera Utara. We welcome academic research papers focused on but not limited to architectural design, architectural history, landscape architecture, urban design and planning, and building science. All publication will be free of charge. Articles and papers will be reviewed blindly by independent national and international reviewers who are experienced in their field.

For template here.
en-US koridor@usu.ac.id (Ir. Therefore, city park infrastructure needs to be able to be accessed independently, even without the help of other people. In this research on the provision of city park infrastructure in Tirto Agung Park, descriptive methods were used with a qualitative approach. Literature studies, field observations and comparative studies were carried out to assess the availability of city park infrastructure based on user inclusiveness. Based on Minister of Public Works Regulation Number 03 of 2014, there are several things that need to be considered, such as the presence of seating, disabled facilities, trash cans, lighting and safety fences. However, several standards such as signage, crossing areas, toilets and pedestrian paths do not meet the standards. The recommendation in this research is to add, repair and maintain park facilities and infrastructure such as providing ramps, zebra crossings, guiding blocks and so on

Keyword: Inclusive, Infrastructure, and City Parks.
Khoirotun Hisan Copyright (c) https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/16942 - Semiotics Analysis Method in Architectural Research https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/14732
Semiotics is the study of signs in the social life of society. While architectural semiotics is a method of analysis in architectural research that views an architectural work as a collection of signs that become a marker to convey a sign of meaning or message to its users. The objective of this study is to establish the scope of the use of semiotic analysis methods in architectural studies in terms of the variety of research topics and findings that can be obtained from these studies. This study is a descriptive exploratory study with a literature study related to the use of semiotic analysis methods in research in the field of architecture. From the results of the study note that the semiotic analysis method can be used to examine the meaning or message both visual and non-visual that exists in architectural works. There are markers and markers in the form of architecture that describe the culture of the local community. The search for meaning or message contained in an architectural work can be carried out with several semiotic analysis strategies.
Jarwa Prasetya Sih Handoko Copyright (c) https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/14732 Exploring Indonesia's Vernacular Architecture: Comparison of Environment and Culture Responsiveness https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/16519
Culture, region, and climate are three fundamental aspects that influence vernacular architecture. As the largest archipelagic country in the world, Indonesia is rich in diversity of vernacular architecture, originating from different cultural backgrounds and natural characteristics. It is interesting to examine whether significant similarities or differences are reflected in two vernacular houses formed from other cultures, regions, and topographies, even though they have the same function: residence. In this research, architectural comparisons were made between Sundanese traditional houses with the natural character of the mountains in West Java and Banjar traditional houses in the coastal region of South Kalimantan. Data was obtained through the literature review and then analyzed using Bentley's theory of three aspects — functional-constructional, environmental, and socio-cultural; as well as seven criteria — permeability, variety, readability, robustness, visual suitability, richness, and personalization. The research results show that the differences between these two vernacular architectures are visible from the use of materials and the type of foundation used. Apart from that, an interesting fact was discovered that even though both of them have different cultures and regions, the shape of the roof, the position of openings such as windows and doors, and the location of the buildings in the same housing complex, these two vernacular architectures have similarities. It is analyzed that this is the response of both communities that is reflected in each of their vernacular architecture to the environment in the same climate, namely the tropical climate.
Afina Nisa Aulia, Selly Veronica Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Koridor https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/16519 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Systematic Literature Reviews of Architectural Soundscapes Study https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/16428
Sound is an inseparable part of human activity, exhibiting various phenomena related to its source, duration, timing, and interpretation. Sound in residential environments becomes a unique characteristic of each building, influenced by its spatial dimensions. This auditory phenomenon can be interpreted by residents and the surrounding environment, albeit with potentially differing interpretations. This study aims to explore the latest research boundaries in soundscape studies, particularly in the field of architecture. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review, searching for journals over the past 20 years using the PoP application and keywords "Soundscape" and "Architecture" in the Scopus Index, to present a research map of the past 5 years, encompassing patterns or trends in the research object of Soundscape Architecture. The findings of this research identify patterns or trends observed in studies of Soundscape Architecture over the past 5 years, contributing to a deeper understanding of the complexity and nuances of Soundscape Architecture research, and highlighting areas for further investigation and development

Keyword: Soundscape, Architecture
Army Wiratama Copyright (c) https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/16428 Identification of Genius Loci on the Main Street of Kotagede https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/16150
Kotagede is one of the districts in Yogyakarta with many historical sites. One of Kotagede's attractions, the silver crafts industries, is a sector that utilises much of the main street space in the form of retail shops. This study aims to explore the character of silver craft industry on Kotagede's main streets using the genius loci phenomenological method. Three parameters of image, space and character were used as the unit of analysis to identify the spirit of the area on Mondorakan and Kemasan streets. The results of the literature study and field observations show that both streets function as landmarks and representations of the silver industry sites. The results of the study are expected to be one of the references in the implementation of the revitalisation of tourist areas in Kotagede.
Copyright (c) https://talenta.usu.ac.id/koridor/article/view/16150
