The composition of planting media and the right watering interval to obtain the best characteristics of okra plants need to be obtained. This study aims to obtain the growth and production characteristics of okra plants on the use of several compositions of planting media (topsoil; top soil and husk charcoal; topsoil and chicken manure; topsoil and vermicompost) with watering intervals (1 day; 3 days and 5 days). Using a Randomized Complete Block Design with 3 repeats. Held in Medan with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level from March to June 2021. The results showed the best characteristics of okra plants, both growth and production were obtained in the use of top soil plus chicken manure media (9: 1). The best plant growth characteristics are also obtained at watering intervals once a day.
