Abstract

Porang is a new commodity that began to be cultivated intensively in North Sumatra. Land and environmental conditions become the main factors in influencing the production of people's tubers. This study aims to evaluate the quality of people's crop land (Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain) at several locations in North Sumatra. The study was conducted in April-July 2021. This study used a survey method with purposive sampling techniques. The results of matching the quality of land with the requirements of growing people's crops show rainfall in several land locations in North Sumatra is on the criteria quite appropriate (S2) while the temperature is at the criteria very appropriate (S1) to quite appropriate (S2). Regression test results showed that the amount of simultaneous influence exerted by %C-organic, pH, %dust, %clay, slope class, dosage, planting distance, rainfall, and temperature on bulb weight was 87.1%.
