Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan respons pertumbuhan dua bahan tanam setek nilam (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) terhadap pemberian NAA (Napthalene Acetic Acid). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan dari bulan Agustus sampai dengan Oktober 2015, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan dua faktor perlakuan yaitu bahan tanam setek (setek pucuk dan setek batang) dan konsentrasi NAA (0; 100; 200; dan 300 ppm). Peubah yang diamati yaitu persentase setek hidup, jumlah tunas, berat basah tajuk, dan berat kering tajuk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan tanam setek terbaik adalah setek batang pada persentase setek hidup, bobot basah tajuk dan bobot kering tajuk. Konsentrasi NAA terbaik adalah 200 ppm pada persentase setek hidup. Interaksi antara bahan tanam setek dan konsentrasi NAA terbaik pada kombinasi setek batang dengan konsentrasi NAA 200 ppm pada persentase setek hidup.
The purpose of this research was to determine the growth responses of planting material cuttings patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) on consentration of NAA (Napthalene Acetic Acid). The research was conducted at the experimental field Faculty of Agricultural, The University of Sumatera Utara, Medan from August to October 2015, using randomized block design with two factors, i.e. planting material cuttings (shoot cutting and stem cutting) and and the concentration of NAA (0; 100; 200; and 300 ppm). The variable observed were percentage of cutting living, shoots number, crop fresh weight and crop dry weight. The results showed that the best treatment of cuttings plant material is stem cutting has significantly effect to the percentage of cutting living, crop fresh weight and crop dry weight. The best concentration of NAA were 200 ppm showed significant effect to the percentage of cutting living. The interaction of both of treatment showed the combination of stem cutting and 200 ppm of NAA has significant effect to the percentage of cutting living.
