Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of growth and production of sorghum variety kawali to the application of coffee husk compost and NPK fertilizer 16:16:16. This research was conducted on Harmonika Baru Street, Padang Bulan Selayang II, Medan Selayang District, Medan at the place with a height of ± 25 meters. This research was conducted from March 2023 to June 2023. The design used in this study was arranged in a factorial randomized block design consisting of 3 replications with 2 treatments. Factor I coffee husk compost: 0 kg/plot, 3.5 kg/plot, 7 kg/plot, and 10.5 kg/plot. Factor II NPK fertilizer 16:16:16 : 0 g/planting hole and 20 g/planting hole. Based on the results of research conducted that the application of coffee husk compost had a significant effect on 6 WAP – 9 WAP plant height, 7 WAP – 9 WAP number of leaves, stem diameter, flowering age, wet stover weight, panicle weight, seed weight per sample, and 1000 kg weight seed. Application of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer had a significant effect on 6 WAP – 9 WAP plant height, 5 WAP – 9 WAP number of leaves, stem diameter, flowering age, wet stover weight, panicle weight, seed weight per sample, and 1000 seed weight. The interaction of the treatment with coffee husk compost and NPK fertilizer 16:16:16 had a significant effect on the weight of 1000 seeds.
