Root gall nematode caused by Meloidogyne is one of threat for the production of potato in Indonesia. Currently, biological controlling by using antagonist microbes and adding organic matters are more concerned to minimize the negative impacts for environment and human. Therefore, the objective of this research was to study the effect of organic matter Mucuna bracteata and antagonist microbes (Trichoderma viride and T. harzianum) on the dominance of root gall nematode Meloidogyne spp. in potato in the field. This research was conducted in Plant Disease Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan and in the field in Karo Regency. The method used Complete Random Sampling (CRS) design non-factorial with eight treatments; i.e control, nematicide with active ingredient Carbofuran 3%, M. bracteata, T. viride, T. harzianum, M. bracteata + T.viride, M. bracteata + T. harzianum and T. viride + T. harzianum and five replications. The results showed the treatment of M. bracteata + T. viride was the best treatment for controlling root knot nematodes with 34.4 galls and final nematode populations of 53.03.
Penyakit bengkak akar yang disebabkan nematoda puru akar (Meloidogyne spp.) merupakan salah satu hambatan produksi tanaman kentang di Indonesia. Saat ini pengendalian secara hayati dengan menggunakan mikroba antagonis dan penambahan bahan organik lebih diutamakan untuk mengurangi dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan dan manusia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bahan organik Mucuna bracteata dan mikroba antagonis (Trichoderma viride dan T. harzianum) terhadap dominansi nematoda puru akar pada tanaman kentang di lapangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Penyakit Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara dan di lahan pertanian di Kabupaten Karo. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok non Faktorial dengan delapan perlakuan, yaitu kontrol, nematisida berbahan aktif Karbofuran 3%, M. bracteata, T. viride, T. harzianum, M. bracteata + T.viride, M. bracteata + T. harzianum dan T. viride + T. harzianum dan lima ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan M. bracteata + T. viride merupakan perlakuan terbaik dalam mengendalikan nematoda puru akar pada tanaman kentang dengan jumlah puru 34,4 dan populasi akhir 53,03.
