The aim of the research was to determine the growth andyieldthe first generation(M1V1) of local shallot Humbang Hasundutan genotypes accession of Tipangirradiated by gamma ray. Research was conducted at Rianiate village, Pangururan Samosir district at altitude ± 1010 meters above sea level began from July up to October 2016.The experiment was arranged byaugmented design withsix level dosages of gamma irradiation i.e; 0; 2; 4; 6; 8;and 10Gy.The data was analyzedwith Ttest using Minitab 16software. The Parameters observed were plant lenght, number of leaves, number of tillers, fresh and dry weight of tubers, and tuber diameter. The resultshowed, that the genotypes shallot that were irradiated with gamma rays at 8 Gy produced better growth and yield than control plants (unirradiated plants).
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pertumbuhan dan produksi genotipe bawang merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.)lokal Humbang Hasundutan aksesi Tipang generasi pertama (M1V1) hasil iradiasi sinar gamma. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di desa Rianiate Kecamatan Pangururan Kabupaten Samosir dengan ketinggian tempat ± 1010 meter di atas permukaan laut dilaksanakan pada bulanJuli-Oktober 2016. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan augmented design dengan 6 taraf perlakuan dosis iradiasi (0; 2; 4; 6; 8;dan 10)Gy dan dianalisis dengan uji t menggunakan software minitab 16. Parameter yang diamatiadalah panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan, bobot basah umbi, bobot kering umbi, dan diameter umbi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotipe bawang merah hasil iradiasi sinar gamma dengan dosis 8 Gy menghasilkan pertumbuhan dan produksi yang lebih baik dibandingkan tanaman kontrol (tanaman tidak diiradiasi).
