The objective of this research was to study the effect intercropping system and NPK fertilizer treatment on growth and production of sweet corn . This research was conduct in Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Desa Tanjung Selamat from May to November 2016. This research used factorial Block Randomized Design with 2 factor. The first factor were (sweet corn monoculture, sweet corn intercropping with rice, and sweet corn intercropping with soybean) and the second factor were NPK fertilizer (0,50,100,150 g/plot). The result of these research showed that the intercropping system had significant effect on the height in 6 WAP and leaf area index sweet corn. Dosage of NPK fertilizer has a significant effect on the height in 6-7 WAP, leaf area index and row number per cob sweet corn. The interaction between cropping pattern and dosage of NPK fertilizer not significantly affected on all parameters. The highest of Land Equivalent Ratio are obtained on intercropped sweet corn - soybean with to NPK fertilizer (100 g/plot).
Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mempelajari pengaruh pola tanam tumpangsari dan pemupukan NPK dalam pertumbuhan dan produksi jagung manis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Desa Tanjung Selamat pada bulan Mei sampai November 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu: faktor pertama pola tanam (monokultur jagung manis, tumpangsari jagung manis – padi gogo, tumpangsari jagung manis – kedelai) dan faktor kedua pupuk NPK (0, 50, 100, 150 g/plot). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola tanam tumpangsari berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 6 MST dan luas daun jagung manis. Dosis pupuk NPK berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 6-7 MST, luas daun, dan jumlah baris per tongkol jagung manis. Interaksi antara pola tanam dan dosis pemberian pupuk NPK berpengaruh tidak nyata. Nilai Nisbah Kesesuaian Lahan yang tertinggi diperoleh pada pola tanam jagung manis – kedelai dengan pemupukan NPK (100 g/plot).
