Abstract

Klasifikasi tanah ketiga areal menurut world reference base for soil resources 2014 berturut-turut adalah Fibric Hyperorganic Histosols, Hemic Hyperorganic Histosols, dan Sapric Hyperorganic Histosols.

Survey research to characterize peat soil of Toba plateau, that conducted in three areas of peat located in three subdistricts that is subdistrict of Lintong Nihuta, subdistrict of Doloksanggul, and subdistrict of Pollung. Soil analyse properties was conducted in Riset and Technology Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty of North Sumatera University. Every profiles is observed about morphology and soil characteristic and than classificatied in soil taxonomy 2014, national soil classification and world reference base for soil resources 2014. Research result indicate that the soil classification of the third areas according to soil taxonomy 2014 repectively is Fibric Haplohemist, Hydric Haplohemist, and Typic Haplosaprist. Soil classification of each area according to national soil classification respectively is organosol fibrik, organosol hemik, and organosol saprik. Soil classification of each area according to world reference base for soil resources 2014 respectively is fibric hyperorganic histosols, hemic hyperorganic histosols, and sapric hyperorganic histosols.
