This study aims to knowthe effect of cow manure and plant spacing on thegrowth
and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.).This research was conducted
in Desa Asam Kumbang, Medan Selayang, Medan, North Sumatra, in JanuaryApril 2016 with Split Plot Design (SPD) with thetwo factors, namely a spacing
consists of; 70 cm x 20 cm; 70 cm x 25 cm; 70 cm x 30 cm, and treatments
consisted cow manure anorganic fertilizers; 7.500 kg/ha; 15.000 kg/ha; 22.500
kg/ha.The results showed that the treatment plant spacing effect significant effect
on plant height, stem diameter,number of leaves, leaf area, flowering days, fresh
weight of roots, fresh weight of shoot, fresh weight of cobs with husk sweet corn
plants per plot and without husk sweet corn plants per plot. The treatment of cow
manure dose significantly affected plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, leaf area
index, fresh weight of roots, fresh weight of shoot, fresh weight of cobs with
husks, fresh weight of cobs with husks per plot and without husks per plot. The
interaction between the treatment effect is not significant for all
paramameters.Hight production of fresh weight of cobs without husks per plot in
anorganic fertilizers or 22.5 ton cow manure per ha andnamely a plant spacing
consists of 70 cm x 20 cm.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk kandang sapi dan jarak tanam pada pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays saccaharata Strut.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Asam Kumbang, Kecamatan Medan Selayang, Medan, Sumatera Utara pada ketinggian lebih kurang ( ± ) 25 meter diatas permukaan laut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari sampai dengan April 2016 menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah (RPT), dengan dua perlakuan, yakni perlakuan pertama jarak tanam terdiri dari 70 cm x 20 cm; 70 cm x 25 cm; 70 cm x 30 cm, dan perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi terdiri dari pupuk buatan; 7.500 kg/ha; 15.000 kg/ha; 22.500 kg/ha. Perlakuan jarak tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman 3 -5 dan 7 MST, jumlah daun 5 MST, diameter batang umur berbunga, bobot segar akar, bobot segar tajuk, bobot segar tongkol berklobot per plot dan tanpa klobot per plot. Perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman 3-7 MST, diameter batang, luas daun, indeks luas daun, bobot segar akar, bobot segar tajuk, bobot segar tongkol berklobot, bobot segar tongkol berklobot per plot dan tanpa klobot per plot. Interaksi antara kedua perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata pada semua parameter pengamatan. Produksi bobot segar tongkol tanpa kelobot per plot lebih tinggi diperoleh pada pemberian pupuk buatan atau pupuk kandang sapi 22.5 ton/ha dan jarak tanam rapat 70 cm x 20 cm.
