Faktor I : bahan organik (B) dengan dosis 10g/pot (20 ton/ha), yaitu : B0 (tanpa bahan organik 0g/pot), B1 (kompos titonia 10g/pot), B2 (kompos kulit durian 10g/pot), B3 (kompos TKKS 10g/pot), B4 (pupuk kandang ayam 10g/pot), B5 (kompos titonia 5g/pot + pukan ayam 5g/pot), (kompos kulit durian 5g/pot + pukan ayam 5g/pot), B7 (kompos TKKS 5g/pot + pukan ayam 5g/pot) dan Faktor II ialah lama inkubasi (I), yaitu : I1 (inkubasi satu minggu), I2 (inkubasi dua minggu).
The objective of this study is to determine the effect of some organic matter and incubation period on the pH, P-available, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) and Al-exchange on Ultisol. This research conducted in Soil Physics Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. This study used completely randomized design which consist of two factors with three replications. Factor I: organic matter (B) with dose 10g/pot (20 ton/ha), ie : B0 (without organic matter), B1 (compost of titonia 10g/pot), B2 (compost of durian skin 10g/pot), B3 (Compost of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch 10g/pot), B4 (chicken manure 10g/pot), B5 (compost of titonia 5g/pot + chicken manure 5g/pot), (compost of kulit durian 5g/pot + chicken manure 5g/pot), B7 (Compost of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch 5g/pot + chicken manure 5g/pot) and factor II : the incubation period (I) ie : I1 (one week incubation), I2 (two weeks incubation). The results showed that application of some organic matter and the incubation period significantly increased soil pH, P-available, CEC and lower soil Al-exchange. The incubation period significantly increased soil pH. The interaction between organic matter and incubation period significantly increased soil pH. The best treatment was the application chicken manure and compost of titonia (Tithonia diversivolia) with dose 20 tons/ha.
