Pengaruh Jumlah Bibit dan Sistem Tanaman Jajar Legowo yang di Modifikasi Terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Padi Sawah (Oryza sativa L.) Di Kecamatan Medan Tuntungan
The Effect of Seeds Number and Modified Jajar Legowo Planting System to The Growth and Yield for Rice (Oryza sativa L.) in Medan Tuntungan

The research was conducted at rice field in Medan Tuntungan which about ± 25 metres above sea
level, begun from March until June 2017 using completly randomized design with two factors, i.e:
the number of seeds (1,2,3) and plant population based on modified jajar legowo planting system
(conventional planting system with population of 48 clumps per plot, jajar legowo planting system
with population of 60 clumps per plot, jajar legowo planting system with population of 114 clumps
per plot, jajar legowo planting system with population of 154 clumps per plot, jajar legowo planting
system with population of 190 clumps per plot). The results showed that 1 seed of clumps with
conventional planting system with population of 48 clumps per plot significantly influence the
increase of rice production (Oryza sativa L.). The interaction between number of seeds dan plant
population significantly increased growth but did not significantly increase rice production
(Oryza sativa L.).
Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan sawah Kecamatan Medan Tuntungan dengan ketinggian tempat 25 m di atas permukaan laut, dimulai dari bulan Maret hingga Juni 2017 dengan menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap 2 faktor, yaitu jumlah bibit (1 bibit, 2 bibit, 3 bibit) dan populasi tanaman berdasarkan sistem tanam jajar legowo yang dimodifikasi (sistem tanam konvensional dengan populasi 48 rumpun per petak, sistem tanam jajar legowo dengan populasi 60 rumpun per petak, Sistem tanam jajar legowo dengan populasi 114 rumpun per petak, sistem tanam jajar legowo dengan populasi 154 rumpun per petak, sistem tanam jajar legowo dengan populasi 190 rumpun per petak). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan 1 bibit per rumpun dan sistem tanam konvensional dengan populasi 48 rumpun per petak berpengaruh secara nyata dalam meningkatkan produksi padi sawah (Oryza sativa L.). Interaksi antara faktor jumlah bibit dan populasi tanaman secara nyata meningkatkan pertumbuhan tetapi tidak meningkatkan produksi padi sawah (Oryza sativa L.).
