Abstract

Indonesia is one of the most extensive cocoa cultivators in the world and is the third largest cocoa producer.
However, Indonesian cocoa, especially those produced by the people, in the international market is still valued
the lowest because of its poor image, which is dominated by unfermented beans, beans with high levels of dirt,
and contaminated with insects, fungi, or mitotoxins. this is knowing the level of attack and yield loss due to the
attack of the Cocoa Pod Borer. This research was conducted in Lhok Leumak Village, Lhok Meureu Village and
Seuneubok Kulam, Darul Ihsan District, East Aceh Regency. This study used a survey method, to determine the
location of the study carried out by "purposive sampling", namely the determination of the location chosen
deliberately according to the criteria determined by considering that the location is a center for cocoa plantations
in Darul Ihsan District. The results showed that the percentage of PBK pests was attacked. the highest is in the
criteria of untreated gardens around 70.75% -81%. The highest percentage was in Lhok Leumak Village, reaching
81% with an average value of 76.08%. The lowest percentage of PBK pest attacks was on the criteria for gardens
that had implemented PHT, in Lhok Leumak Village, namely 19%. Meanwhile, the highest attack intensity was
on the criteria of untreated gardens around 30% -36.5% with moderate levels of damage. The intensity of the
attacks was quite high in Lhok Leumak and Lhok Meureu villages, reaching 36.5%. Low attack intensity criteria
for PHT plantations are in Lhok Leumak Village with an average of 3%. The amount of loss of cocoa yields in
Darul Ihsan District with regression Y = 983.39 -17.96 X where when the intensity increases 1% there will be a
loss of yield as much as 17.96 kg.
