Abstract

Sweet corn is an annual crop. As for NPK and Rhizoculant fertilizer is one alternative to increase the growth and yield of sweet corn plants. This study aims to determine the effect of NPK fertilizer and rhizoculant on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt.).This research was carried out in the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan. This research was conducted from May to August 2018 using a Randomized Block Design, with 6 treatments; 7,50 g NPK / plant;7, 50 g NPK + 30 g Rhizoculant / plant; 3, 75 NPK + 30 g Rhizoculant / plant; 3, 75 g NPK + 60 g  Rhizoculant / plant; without NPK +30 g Rhizoculant / plant; without NPK + 60 g Rhizoculant / plant. 7, 5 g NPK + without rhizoculant / plant. In addition rhizoculant 30 – 60 g / plant can reduce the use of  NPK  fertilizer to obtain high production of sweet corn.
