Using bud set is an alternative in problem-solving about seed supplying in sugar cane in planted areas that were for from the nursery. This research was studied to know growth response of sugar cane bud set on various storage times and source of plants material at experimental field Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatera, Medan ±32 meter above sea level in July to November 2018 use Randomized Factorial Block Design with two factors, storage time (4, 7, 10 and 13 days) and sources of planting material (top stem bud set and bottom stem bud set). The result of this research showed that the percentage of shoot growth and the growth of the best sugar cane seedlings are obtained at 10 days of storage time. The best percentage of growing sugar cane bud set was obtained from the use of planting material sources from the top stem. The best sugar cane bud set seed diameter was obtained at 10 days storage time and can use sugar cane bud set planting material from the stem and rootstock.
