Abstract

This study obtained the best dose of addition of magnesium-silica for the growth and production of three rice varieties (Oryza sativa L.). The study was conducted in the rice field of Pematang Setrak Village Teluk Mengkudu District Serdang Bedagai Regency, on 7 meters above sea level, starting from May 2018 to September 2018. The research used Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors, namely factor 1 varieties :  Mekongga, Inpari 30 and Inpari 32, factor 2 addition of Magnesium-Silica (0 kg / ha, 50 kg / ha, 100 kg / ha, 150 kg / ha). Data was tested based on Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that Inpari 32 variety (parameter number of productive tillers per clump, root dry weight per clump, and dry milled grain weight per 4 m2) is the best compared to other varieties. Parameters of plant height were not significant. Addition of Magnesium-Silica as much as 100 kg / ha showed parameter dry milled grain weight per 4 m2 which was the best. Parameters of plant height of grain contain non significanted. The best combination was found in the use of Inpari 32 variety with 100 kg / ha addition of Magnesium-Silica.
