Publication Frequency

JSI is a journal that publishes accepted research articles in February and August (2 issues a year). It is electronically published via the journal website https://talenta.usu.ac.id/Jsi

First Online: August 2018

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to the JSI will be evaluated through two review parts. These parts are pre-review and substantive review. The pre-review of the article is aimed at reviewing the conformity of the manuscript with the journal focus and scope as well as the journal style and specific JSI writing guidelines. The journal editor will check the plagiarism level using Turnitin to ensure this article has not been published. If a manuscript has more than 20% plagiarism based on the Turnitin check result, we will send the manuscript back to the author for revision of the plagiarised content. Only original and previously unpublished manuscripts will be considered for review.

After the manuscripts pass the pre-review stage, they will be reviewed by at least two independent referees who are experts in the relevant area. This journal uses the Double-Blind Peer Review Process, which is approximately 3-10 weeks.

The editor evaluates the recommendation and notifies the author of the manuscript status:

  • Accepted for publication
  • Accepted for publication with minor changes
  • Accepted for publication after re-review, or
  • Rejected.

Comments from reviewers and editors will be sent to the author. The author immediately responds and corrects as suggested by reviewers and editors no later than 2 weeks after the author receives an email from the editor team.

Material which has been previously copyrighted, published, or accepted for publication will not be considered for publication in JSI.  The review process will ensure that all authors have equal opportunity for publication of their papers.

Open Access Policy

JSI provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
