Author Guidelines
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscript in MS Word or PDF format (generated from MS Word) must be submitted to Jurnal Dinamis (Scientific Journal of Mechanical Engineering) through the Online Submission System by accessing the portal (https://talenta.usu.ac.id/dinamis). The length of the manuscript is expected not to exceed 25 printed pages (1.5 line spacing), including abstract, figures, tables, and references. The abstract must describe the significant points of the manuscript, containing the aims of the paper, methods, results, and conclusions within 100-250 words. The authors should provide five keywords or phrases that characterize the manuscript. The English manuscript uses the SI system, often International Units, for measurements and units. The manuscript as the section body is written with Times New Roman font size 11 pt with 1.5 (one and a half) line spacing between lines, 12 pt spacing among paragraphs, 24 pt spacing for the next heading, and on A4 paper (210 mm x 297 mm) with the upper margin of 1.75 cm, lower margin 1.55 cm, left and right 3 and 3 cm. The references should be numbered consecutively in the order of their appearance. They should be complete, including the authors' initials, the paper's title, the date, page numbers, and the name of the sponsoring society. Adjust the size of figures and tables so that all information in figures and tables can be legible. For all equations, use either Microsoft Equation Editor or MathType add-on. Equations are numbered consecutively in parenthesis, e.g. (1), and set at the right margin. Use a tool such as EndNote, Mendeley, or Zotero for reference management and formatting.
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript structure refers to the standard structure of the body as follows:
- Abstract. It is the first part of a scientific article. It comprises a summary of the whole content of the scientific article. It gives the reader a general overview of the scientific article's content. By reading the abstract, readers can decide whether the research topic is relevant to their wish.
- Introduction. It begins with a general discussion. The first sentence of the opening paragraph should make readers appealing and curious. Then, the background of the research and related previous studies are explained after the opening and ending paragraphs. This section logically links the existing research problems with the approach to solving the problem. The introduction ends with the aim and purpose of the research or the activity and main research finding.
- Method. It discusses how the research will be done. This section supports and establishes the explanation in the findings chapter.
- Result and Discussion. It starts with a description of the research findings. Then, data analysis of research findings becomes the following explanation. The data analysis is based on the research problem presented in the introduction. The descriptions in this section can explain whether the hypothesis presented in the introduction can be proven.
- Conclusion. It is the last section in the AIM (RAD) C model. It summarizes some information on the research findings and discussion.
