Peer Review Process

Global Forest Journal (GFJ) applies a Double-Blind Peer Review process. All submitted manuscripts first undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, as well as to identify any major methodological weaknesses. Manuscripts that pass this stage are then subjected to a plagiarism check using Turnitin.

Eligible manuscripts are subsequently sent, in anonymized form, to a minimum of two independent reviewers. Reviewers’ evaluations and recommendations are communicated to the authors, who are required to revise the manuscript and provide responses where necessary. The revised submission is then discussed and evaluated during an editorial board meeting.

The entire review process, from initial submission to the first editorial decision, typically takes approximately 2–3 Months. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection is formally communicated to the corresponding author. Manuscripts are assessed based on their scholarly quality, originality, methodological rigor, and suitability for publication in GFJ.
