Journal History

The International Journal of Architecture and Urbanism (IJAU) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by TALENTA Publisher, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Indonesia.

• Its scope covers a broad range of topics: architectural theory and criticism, building technology, sustainable built environments, urban design, spatial change & geographic information systems, heritage, economic development, and more.

• The journal began publication in November 2017.

• It is published three times a year (March, August, November) by the Architecture Department, Faculty of Engineering, USU.

• Each issue typically includes 11 research articles.

• Submissions undergo a double-blind peer review, involving an initial pre-review for scope/style and plagiarism check (via Turnitin), followed by in-depth review by at least two independent, expert referees. Review duration is around 3–10 weeks.

• The journal is indexed in Garuda Portal (Indonesian Publication Index) and Google Scholar.

• Its ISSN numbers are Print: 2622-0008 and Online: 2622-1640.

• The Editor-in-Chief is Dwira N. Aulia, with managing editors Beny OY Marpaung and Sri Agustina.
