SAJJANA: Public Administration Review

SAJJANA: Public Administration Review is a peer-reviewed journal that aims to accommodate the exchange of ideas and the development of theories and concepts in the fields of public policy, public administration, and development studies. This journal was established out of the necessity to provide a scholarly platform and forum that encourages dialogue on the emerging complexities and interconnections between public administration and development practices across diverse national contexts, particularly in Asia and the Pacific.

The title "Sajjana" is derived from the Sanskrit language, meaning “a virtuous person”, “a wise individual”, or “someone who embodies integrity and goodness.” The choice of this title reflects the journal’s mission to promote ethical, reflective, and solution-oriented discourse on governance, public management, and policy innovation. By invoking the spirit of Sajjana, the journal aspires to contribute to the cultivation of wisdom and integrity in the theory and practice of public administration and development.

SAJJANA is managed by the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and published by Talenta Press in collaboration with USU Press. The journal targets both scholars and practitioners concerned with the challenges and transformations in governance, decentralization, public service delivery, and the evolving landscape of electronic government and digital bureaucracy.
