Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Manuscript Preparation

The manuscript is the result of the research study in public health that includes Epidemiology, Health Policy and Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Health Education and Behavioral Science, Public Health Nutrition, Biostatistics and Demography, Family and Reproductive Health and other research in the field of Public Health Sciences. Writing Guide

Title. Title is written in Bahasa and English, reflects the content of the manuscript, concise, with a maximum of 20 words.

Author’s identity. Author’s identity is written under the title, which includes the first name and surname, affiliation, country, and e-mail. In case of more authors from the same institutions, the number corresponding is presented with the same number in a list of places of works.

Abstract. Abstract is written in Bahasa and English. The abstract is a summary of the whole paper including a clearly defined introduction, objective, method, results, and conclusion. Abstract length up to 250 words with a maximum of five keywords separat­ed by comma. Keywords describe the fundamental of the research.

Introduction. Introduction contains background or research rational, literature review in brief and relevant (minimum reference in the last ten years of previous journal articles), and research objective. There is a gap analysis (a question or a problem that has not been answered by any of the existing research or what is unique about this paper compared to previous papers).

Method. Method includes design, place and time of the research, population and sample, data sources, techniques and instruments of data collection, measurement method, data analysis procedure, and ethics.

Result. Results are research findings, should be clear and concise in a logical order. It can be presented with a table and graph or figure with an appropriate commentary. The presentation of table and graph or figure is in the results section in the body of the text. Table and graph or figure can take up space in both columns at once or only one column. Table is sequentially numbered commencing at 1 with the table title and number above the table. Table should be single-spaced and justified in the column or on the page. Figure is sequentially numbered commencing at 1 with the figure title and number below the figure. Detailed recommendations for figures are ensure that figures are clear and legible with typed letterings, black & white or colored figures are allowed, and centered in the column or on the page.

Discussion. Discussion is written properly, clearly, and argumentatively. Discussion answers the research problem, interpret the findings, integrate the findings or with any relevant theory and prior finding, and formulate a new theory or modify the existing theories.

Conclusion. This section contains conclusions and suggestions based on the research results. This section is written in form of narration (not in numerical form), be logical and effective.

Acknowledgment (if any). Acknowledgment in the form of gratitude for contributions or assistance received from other parties in research (people, grants, funds, etc.). The names of funding organizations should be written in full.

References. References should be written with American Psychological Association (APA) Style. References contain a minimum of 10 reference sources. All sources cited in the bibliography are the sources cited in the article (please check each author's name and year of publication). It is recommended to use references from primary sources (at least 80% of references) such as journal articles, proceedings, theses or dissertations and use up-to-date references (references were made during the last ten years). The authors use a reference manager such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, etc.

Submission of papers

Papers should be submitted continuously; all requirements are included in the paper template. The maximal length of the whole paper including table, figure or graph and references should be 10 pages. All papers are submitted to a blind peer-review process before publication. Reviewer's overall recommendation can be as follows:

Accept the paper without revision. The paper is forwarded to the editorial board to be accepted or published in the journal

Accept the paper with revision. Reviewer's suggestions and comments are sent via notification email to the corresponding author's email address. The authors should correct the paper according to the comments and re-submit the paper again.

Reject the paper. The paper will not be published in the journal. Reviewers' reasons for the rejection of the paper are sent via notification email to the corresponding author's email address.
