Manuscript submitted to Indonesian Journal of Agricultural Research (InJAR) will be evaluated by two anonymous reviewers through double-blind peer reviewed process. The process will be conducted in two steps, covering the pre-review and substance review. The complete process from submission until publication will be conducted with a maximum duration of 16 weeks.

The editor shall ensure that the peer review process is fair, unbiased, and timely. Research articles must typically be reviewed by at least two external and independent reviewers, and where necessary the editor should seek additional opinions.

The editor shall select reviewers who have suitable expertise in the relevant field and shall follow best practice in avoiding the selection of fraudulent peer reviewers. The editor shall review all disclosures of potential conflicts of interest and suggestions for self-citation made by reviewers in order to determine whether there is any potential for bias.

The pre-review of the manuscript is aimed at reviewing the conformity of the manuscript with the journal focus and scope as well as the journal style and specific InJAR writing guidelines. Besides, journal editor will check the plagiarism level using Turnitin to ensure this manuscript has not been published. Manuscript with more than 25% of similarities will be returned to author for revision. Only original and  unpublished manuscript will be considered for substance review.

After the manuscripts passed the pre-review stage, the manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the related area with a duration of 3-10 weeks. The reviewer may request a re-review after the author revises his/her manuscript (if necessary). The return of a reviewed manuscript to the author(s) for revision does not guarantee acceptance of the revised manuscript for publication. The final decision will be based on the comments of reviewers, upon their second review of the revised manuscript.

Journal editor (authorized by Editor in Chief) will decide whether the manuscript will be published or not, based on the recommendations from reviewers. The manuscript which have been declared accepted will be published before the regular issue is published on schedule, as Article in Press.
