Research article

Reports new experimental, computational or field research in eco chemical engineering

Introduction, Method, Results and discussion, Conclusion (IMRAD)

≤ 250 words, IMRAD summary

5–10, alphabetical

IEEE style

Review article

Critically summarizes and analyzes published research on one topic, identifying trends and research gaps

Introduction, thematic sections set by the author, Conclusion and outlook

≤ 250 words: scope, main themes, conclusions

5–10, alphabetical

IEEE style; an extensive, current list is expected

Short communication

Reports brief, urgent or preliminary findings that do not need a full article

Introduction, Method, Results and discussion, Conclusion, written more concisely

≤ 250 words, IMRAD summary

Research article. Begin the introduction with background and previous studies, and end it with the research aim and main findings. The method section must give enough detail to support the results. The discussion must test the findings against the problem stated in the introduction.

Review article. Define the scope and how the literature was selected in the introduction. Arrange the body by theme rather than by individual study, and close with the open challenges and future directions.

Short communication. Keep the IMRAD structure but limit the text to the essential findings, with fewer figures and tables than a full article.

Requirements for all types

  • Prepared in the EcoChe 2026 MS Word template: A4, single column, 2 cm margins, Times New Roman.
  • Title in 16 pt bold, authors in 14 pt, abstract in 10 pt, body in 11 pt justified.
  • Acknowledgements and a Conflict of interest statement included.
  • Tables, figures, equations and SI units formatted as in the EcoChe Author Guidelines.
  • References in IEEE style, numbered in order of citation.
  • Submitted through usu.ac.id/EcoChe.

Open question for the editorial team: the template doesn't mention review articles, short communications, or page limits. Confirm which types EcoChe accepts, and set a length for each if needed.
