About the Journal

Langgas: Jurnal Studi Pembangunan is a scientific journal published by Programme Study of Development Studies, Faculty of Social and Political Science, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Langgas publishes original empirical, theoretical, and policy-oriented research in development studies. Langgas is devoted to the study of the broad phenomenon of development. The word langgas, according to KBBI means not being tied to something/someone. Development is actually aimed at creating a society that is not tied to anything/someone.

Langgas regularly publishes articles twice a year (May and November). Our primary audiences include academicians, graduate students, practitioners, and other people interested in development studies issues. Langgas aims to encourage debate on the many aspects of development that are of interest to policymakers, administrators and journalists, aid and development personnel, as well as to all those involved in education.
