About the Journal

Journal of Environmental and Development Studies is a peer-reviewed journal published by TALENTA (Universitas Sumatera Utara's Journals Publisher) and managed by Postgraduate School, Universitas Sumatera Utara was established in 2020 with the ISSN (Online) 2745-459. This journal is published two times a year in March and September, and all papers are written in English.

In 2024, starting with the Volume 5 issue, the Journal of Environmental and Development Studies uses a new manuscript template issued by Talenta USU which can be accessed on the following page

The author can submit articles in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Authors who submit articles in Bahasa Indonesia will be charged for translation fee. The aims of this journal are to provide a venue for graduate students, academicians, researchers, and practitioners to publish original research articles or review articles. Journal of Environmental and Development Studies is the available online version. These articles will be indexed by the Indonesian Publication Index (Garuda Portal), and Google Scholar.

There are four volumes have been published in total. Throughout its existence, the Editor in Chief has been Prof. T. Sabrina, M.Agr., Ph.D, and there have been two management team changes.

The JEDS Journal Management Team was first declared in the "Decree of the Chancellor of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Number: 3817/UN5.1.R/SK/KPM/2021" in June 2021 with 2 Managing Editors; Dr. Hesti Wahyuningsih, S.Si., M.Si. and Wida Akasah, S.Agr., M.Si., which continued until the Chancellor's Decree in November 2021. Then, continue in 2022, with the Chancellor's Decree in March and September 2022, with the same managing editor.

The Managing Editor was changed in 2023 by Dr. Isnen Fitri ST., M.Eng, Ph.D. and Dr. Salmina Wati Ginting in the Chancellor's Decree, Universitas Sumatera Utara Number: 1297/UN5.1.R/SK/KPM/2023," and this continues to this day.
