History

LingPoet: Journal of Linguistics and Literary Research is an international peer-reviewed journal published by TALENTA Publisher, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and managed by the English Department, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Since its establishment, the journal has been committed to providing an academic platform for researchers, scholars, and practitioners to disseminate high-quality research in linguistics, applied linguistics, and literary studies.

As part of its commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, LingPoet adopts a full open access publishing model, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible online without subscription fees. This policy promotes the wider dissemination of research findings and supports global scholarly communication.

The journal has continuously improved its publication capacity to accommodate the growing number of quality submissions. Initially, each issue published 6 articles. Beginning with Volume 2, Number 1 (2021), the journal expanded its publication to 8 articles per issue. Reflecting its continued growth and increasing academic contributions, starting from Volume 7, Number 1 (2026), LingPoet increased its publication capacity to 12 articles per issue.

In recognition of its commitment to maintaining high editorial standards and publication quality, LingPoet is currently accredited at SINTA 3 (Science and Technology Index) by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. This accreditation demonstrates the journal's dedication to publishing rigorous, high-quality scholarly works and strengthening its reputation within the national and international academic communities.
