Publication Frequency

The International Journal Linguistics of Sumatra and Malay (IJLSM) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published twice a year, with two regular issues released annually in June and December. This publication schedule is designed to ensure the consistent dissemination of high-quality research in linguistics, particularly research concerning the languages of Sumatra and Malay linguistic traditions.

The journal follows a biannual publication schedule as follows:

  • June Issue: Published in June each year.

  • December Issue: Published in December each year.

Submission Schedule

IJLSM accepts manuscript submissions throughout the year. Authors may submit their manuscripts at any time through the journal's online submission system, provided that their submissions comply with the journal's Focus and Scope and Author Guidelines.

The receipt of a manuscript does not guarantee its inclusion in the next scheduled issue. Publication depends on the outcome of the initial editorial screening, the double-blind peer review process, the authors' timely completion of required revisions, and the final editorial decision.

Manuscripts that have not completed the review and editorial process in time for a particular issue may be considered for a subsequent issue, subject to editorial decisions and publication capacity.

Editorial and Publication Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal. Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements proceed to double-blind peer review by independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise.

Following peer review, authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers' comments and editorial recommendations. Accepted manuscripts proceed through the necessary editorial preparation and production stages before publication.

The journal does not guarantee acceptance or publication within a specific period. The duration of the editorial process may vary depending on reviewer availability, the nature of the required revisions, and the time taken by authors to respond to editorial decisions.

Open Access and Availability

All articles published in IJLSM are made available online through the journal's website under its open-access policy. Readers can access published articles without subscription fees, supporting the broad dissemination of linguistic scholarship to researchers, educators, students, and the wider academic community.
